VANCOUVER, B.C. (December 17, 2018) – Paul Schrader’s First Reformed leads the Vancouver Film Critic’s Circle international awards with three wins, including Best Director and Best Screenplay for Schrader. Ethan Hawke was also awarded Best Actor, Male for his role in First Reformed. The other big winner of the night was Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma, which picked up Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film. Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) was named Best Supporting Actor, Male, while Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) wins Best Supporting Actor, Female. Minding the Gap is the Best Documentary.

The Best Actor, Female category was left as an unbroken three-way tie, a testament to the impeccable work of all three nominees. Thus: this year’s Best Actor, Female winners are Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Olivia Colman (The Favourite), and Regina Hall (Support the Girls).
